The beanstalk organic food offers a diverse range of services to its members and the community. Click on each Bean to find out more:
- Weekly Groceries: Bread, eggs, milk, yougurt, honey, olives, "urban tucker" (produced by some of our members, not certified organic, but organic nevertheless). Occasionally we have organic beef and poultry, too!
- Fortnightly Groceries: Grains / Flours, pulses, pasta, nuts and dried fruit, tea and coffee, wheatgrass, etc...
- Seasonal Beanstalk Newsletter up to 2006. Our newsletter is now emailed to our members weekly, with information about the produce in the box, seasonal recipes and articles. When you become a member you register for it and start receiving it immediatly.

Weekly Fresh produce boxes:
These abundant, organic and alive boxes consist of only the freshest fruit and vegetables often picked that morning. We support certified growers, those in conversion and farmers beginning to change to sustainable farming practices.The priceof this box is $21 (full) or $19 (concession). This price is, on average, comparable to what ou would pay at Coles - only may of the vegies at Colesare not organic.
The Beanstalk sources fresh food from all over the Hunter Region. From Salt Ash in Port Stephens to Buttai in the Hunter River Country. Each farm has unique climate and soil conditions which allow for different types of produce to be grown in different regions.

Bread: Bill's breads were chosen for their:
- WHOLESOMENESS (Organic & Sourdough)
- LOCALITY (Hunter Valley baker in Cardiff)
- DIVERSITY (White, Wholemeal, Rye, Multigrain, Kamut and Spelt)
The stone-ground grains used in the breads are grown in Australia on organic farms and the processing is certified by Biological Farmers of Australia. No commercial yeast, dairy products, artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourings are used in the manufacture of the breads. Fortnightly Groceries:
Each fortnight the Beanstalk community bulk buy from our closest organic and biodynamic Farm Mill- Demeter as well as other suppliers. By buying bulk we reduce packaging, price and transportation.
We offer a diverse array of dried fruit n nuts, grains, cereals, oils, spreads, teas and coffee. To see full produce range and prices please talk to our co-ordinator on Tuesday. You simply fill an order sheet and will receive your bulk dry goods in 2/3 weeks. A list of items and prices is available at the stall on Tuesdays.
Seasonal Newsletter:
As the seasons change and evolve so does the Beanstalk. The newsletter keeps people up to date with what's happening in the organisation and in the local community. It's also a space to share ideas, recipes and concerns. A food issue is explored with avenues for how to take action. To view our latest newsletter 'Beans Talk'.
What else would you like to see in Beanstalk?
As The Beanstalk grows and evolves, the idea of branching out to more farmers, suppliers and producers becomes a reality. We'd like to diversify our products and welcome any suggestions or comments about current supply and future direction.
